Vibrant May on our beautiful coast

This is without doubt my favourite month of the year.  The garden is looking fresh and new, despite the dry weather, the birds are nesting, the crops are blooming and the seedlings are growing tall.  The beach is ever-changing at the moment.  The warm dry weather and the brisk north-easterly winds of last week create none to subtle changes to the beach  - drifts of pristine soft sand are adorning the foreshore.  We seem to be encased in a sea of vibrant yellow rapeseed flowers and clouds of white cow parsely. The barn owls are busy in their early morning and evening patrols.  It is glorious to watch their uninhibited flights and intent stillness.  Above all, I can't believe the light.  Morning and evening -- the day stretches and stretches and the intensity and depth of the light is magnificent...
