Arts, Crafts and Music

July is a month for creativity and music in Theddlethorpe and surrounding areas. Alford Jazz Festival running from 14th - 27th July has a fantastic line up of performers at various venues in the town. The SO Festival in Skegness over the weekend of Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th July should provide a wide range of entertainment. See www.sofestival.org for more information on the free events of this festival.
Theddlethorpe itself is playing host to the 'Spirit of the Marsh' Event on Saturday 23rd and 24th July, with a range of events including examples of local foods and drink, a 'mind and body' exhibition and stalls run by and showing the arts and crafts of local professional artists. this is being held over a series of venues and will hopefully pave the way for a bigger arts focussed event next year. More information of this upcoming weekend can be found at www.spiritofthemarsh.org.uk

Thursday 23 June 2011

There has been very little 'flaming' about this June so far.. but the glorious vibrant morning and the calm quiet evenings exude everything that is great about English summertime.
The tourist season is in full swing, with Mablethorpe, Louth and Skegness buzzing with people. The tranquility here by the beach is a glorious contrast to the hustle and bustle, and a perfect tonic after a day exploring the coast.
